Good morning and (finally!) welcome to my new wedding series, which I will be posting each week from now until September.

I will be talking all things wedding details, skincare, dresses, flowers, guest outfits and so much more!

Before we get started, a little but of background, especially for any new readers. Chris & I got engaged in June last year and in September this year we are getting married in Paris at an intimate ceremony and dinner with our closest family and friends. I never really like to do anything traditional or the same as others so it will be possibly the most relaxed wedding, no speeches, no first dances, bridesmaids etc.

Hopefully just a wonderful evening in a beautiful city with great food and lots of fun.

One thing I do love is details, so when I knew that we would only do a small wedding it meant I could really get excited about the things that I love – like the invites for example. I knew I wanted to make every part of the day seem special, and make everyone feel involved. So way back in July last year I decided I would do floral invites because I also wanted my favourite florists (Mud Urban Flowers) to be a part of my day, and sadly I couldn’t bring them to Paris with me.

The amazing Mud Urban teamed up with Laila Lettering to create the invites above and honestly I have never loved anything more. I hand delivered them all myself and getting to see people’s reaction when they opened them was the most priceless thing, and something I will never forget.

Christina at Laila Lettering used the most perfect handmade cotton paper in a beautiful french grey and hand wrote every single invite to give that special touch. Then she layered vellum paper over the top with a floral illustration that featured our initials and sealed it with ribbon and wax. They were so delicate and soft and french – exactly what I wanted and more!

I’m so grateful to them both for helping me create the perfect invites. If you are looking for your own wedding invites, or you just love flowers – check out @mudurbanflowers & @lailalettering on instagram.

I hope you enjoyed my first instalment of Wedding Wednesdays – see you next week to chat all things skincare!

Your wedding sounds exquisite. Having done the big wedding day years ago (to please others), I cringed most of my wedding day at all the fussiness of everything. It just wasn’t me. My perfect wedding would be how you described yours. Chic, full of heart, a party with your nearest & dearest and intimate. I can’t wait to se your pics, they will amazing, a true reflection of your gorgeous self xxx
