Spring Beauty Edit: Old Favourites & New In

After talking about some of the new products, which I had received on my instagram stories recently I had a lot of requests to do a post on the blog in more detail. So I thought i’d pull together an edit of the pieces I’m loving that are new in and those old favourites that I find myself reaching for every day at this time of year.

Since it’s spring (although you wouldn’t always know with the weather in Glasgow) I like to feel fresh, have a glow about my skin and of course be bronzed. I’ve spoke about my tan before so let’s start with face products – if you know me or have followed for a while you will know I am an avid lover of Amrani foundations. I’ve been using their foundations for around 4 or 5 years now and I haven’t looked back, or well maybe I was just ignorant to try another one because I was happy and comfortable. So when NARS sent me some products to try out I was intrigued mostly by their Radiant Creamy Concealer and illuminator and kind of ignored their foundation, but when I actually tried it I was more than impressed. Because of the name ‘All day Luminous Weightless Foundation‘ I thought it would be lighter and have less coverage than I normally like but honestly it feels so light but has incredible coverage. I tested it out over a few days and the amount of compliments I got about my glowing skin was more than I had ever received.

Now it’s become my go to foundation and I love to build it up for the days that I shoot – it just gives that perfect skin look. To get the whole look and that serious dewy glow that I like then the radiant creamy concealer and illuminator are of course best to use with it. However for the days I go to work and just use a little bit of concealer and foundation it still gives off a beautiful radiant look. I honestly don’t think I will use another concealer just now, these 3 things have become essential to my spring summer beauty routine and I will definitely repurchase.

Another recent product I have been trying is the new Clinique BIY drops. Straight away I thought these sounded amazing for our trip to Florida in a few weeks. I am not someone who will go out without Make up on but I also don’t want to be wearing heavy make up whilst I walk around Universal Studios in 30 Degree heat. You just add these drops to your moisturiser and build it up for the coverage that you want, so for me its more like a tinted moisturiser but you know you can also carry with you on say a short trip and you can build it up more at night. I have tested out a number of times here but I will let you know how I actually get on with them in the heat on holiday – just keep up to date with my instagram stories.

Finally, I have spoken about this so many times on my blog and instagram but the Chanel bronzer is still an absolute favourite of mine for the Spring Summer season. No matter what I find myself reaching for it everyday – so glad I purchased this last summer!

In terms of Lip and eye products, recently I have been reaching for my HD brow Gel. I used this a lot last summer but in the winter seemed to just stick to the powder. I don’t know if it’s just that i’m lazier with make up in the winter and that I simply spend more time on my brows in the summer but this is a definite favourite of mine currently.
In terms of eyes, I don’t wear a lot of products on them so I like to enhance my lashes but again I never wear false. I have always loved Dior show but sometimes like to change it up and currently i’ve been trying Hypnose by L’ancome and it’s great also, especially for everyday use.

For Lips, one thing you will learn about me is that i’m a kind of find something I like and stick to it girl. I’ve been Mac Velvet Teddy & Spice lip liner for a past few years and it honestly is my everyday combo. Yet recently I have been trying out some NYX products again and I found this Slide on Lip pencil in Sugar Glass, which I love, although slightly drying after a lot of wear but for £6 i’d say it’s perfect, especially if I am just doing my lips to shoot or go out somewhere.
I added this NARS lipstick in the shade Raquel and it is my new summer go to as it’s just that little bit more of a pinky nude compared to my normal shade.

As I spoke recently about skincare I dint want to repeat myself but after discovering the Clinique Fresh Pressed Range I had to tell you about it. I am absolutely obsessed with their Vitamin C daily boosters. It comes with pure vitamin C and once you open one of the small containers you should use it in around 7 days morning and night. I have tested it out for 2 weeks separately and the results are amazing, I feel like it gives me holiday skin. Its brighter and fresher and just feels seriously great after use for the 7 days. A must have before you go away for the summer or have an event – i’d definitely recommend giving them a go.

For Spring Summer scents I normally go for my usual Byredo Blanche or Gypsy water because they are so fresh and light, but for spring currently I am pulled towards this beautiful Jo Malone Red Roses fragrance. It’s probably because of the floral scent that I keep putting it on, as the weather isn’t exactly spring like here just yet, this makes me feel and smell amazing and reminds me that Spring is ‘hopefully’ coming.

Fab blog as always. I’m going to try Nars foundation. I need good coverage (because if my age & my breakouts, which I never had during my teenage years). I used Ester Lauder Doublewear for years. Cover & staying power are fantastic but I felt it was really clogging my skin. I switched to Urban Decay Naked Weightless. Coverage is ok but it has no staying power, whereas the Up All Night foundation I use when going out is fantastic, but is a bit heavy, so it is not my fault go-to. Nars foundation definitely seems like my answer. Im also going to invest in some Clinique creams, they sound wonderful. I need something to brighten my complexion to try & counterbalance the effects of some of my medication.

Love the little extras you post such as the little mirrored tray & candles, I love things like that. Perfect.

Lucky you going to Florida. Such a fab place! Turns us all into young children again. We have been twice in the past, during July & August at the height of the humidity! Definitely not a good look for photos as I couldn’t wear any makeup & I’m no natural beauty. Never mind my hair! Couldn’t be styled in anyway! I had to suck it up & go au naturel! Hoping the backdrop of my photos would distract from my look! Cannot wait to see some of your photos. You will look every inch the natural beauty that you are.

Your Blog & Instagram posts are fantastic. Fabulous style & a beautiful lady. Refreshingly real! Love you Lucy. Happy Easter my lovely. Love from the Green Isle xxx 😘😍💋
