7 Things that Help me Overcome a Bad Week – Ft. My current Go To Products

Being honest, for someone who naturally wants to control everything around them (and make it perfect) can be difficult,  even more so when it’s on a platform such as my blog. I try to be as impersonal as possible, because I never wanted the blog to become invasive to my life and those around me.

After the past few weeks of thinking however, I have become so bored with the blog, and think that it’s time I need to bring more personality in to it. This time of year always comes, the weather and light are poor, it’s difficult to shoot images that I feel are worthy for my social channels and when your job depends on this it can feel like everything seems to be falling around you.

I essentially work one full time job and one part time job, so I am always busy, and finding the time to be creative when your surroundings don’t inspire you, again – it’s not easy. So I thought I’d bring some of my favourite ways to overcome these struggles together and at the same be a little more honest on the blog.

7 little things I do to make myself feel better after a bad week

1. Skincare! You all know how big I am on taking care of my sensitive skin, but especially at this time of year, invest in something that will help brighten your skin and energise it. I get excited to get up in the morning and try my new products and to also see the benefits. My current favourite is the Estee Lauder Wake Up Balm above, if you follow me on instagram stories or snapchat you will have already seen me rave about this amazing product. 

2. Flowers or anything interiors, a mug, a new fur throw for winter – buy it for yourself, the smallest of things can make you happy. I just bought a marble console table for our hall, and every week I get a new candle and flowers to sit on it. 

3. Coffee, another big one for me, for you it might be tea, a smoothie or anything else, but I try to take time twice a day to sit myself and enjoy this. Especially because of my eating issues, I avoid eating out, and eating things I used to enjoy, so coffee has become my saviour. 

4. Do something you enjoy. Go to the cinema, out for coffee and cake, whatever it may be, this weekend I made sure to take time out of work to enjoy my Saturday afternoon.

5. Pamper yourself. Get your hair done, nails, eyebrows or whatever makes you feel a bit better about you, it’s all bout feeling good on the inside – don’t they say? 

6. Buy yourself something. Whether it be a luxurious lipstick like the Tom Ford one above (the new collection are amazing for Christmas), a new knit for winter or a beautiful festive scent. Sometimes treating yourself can make all the difference. 

7. Walk! My final and favourite, as because I am still unable to run, walking gives me time to think and take 30 minutes away from my phone to just be alone. I don’t always have time to go in the morning, but I have grown to love my evening walks, especially in the colder weather.
