Never in my life, have I fallen so in love with one piece, of course I love my bags and shoes – but this hood, is somewhat special. Since getting involved in the Scottish Fashion community in the past few months, it is has been very over whelming, I have met so many amazing, inspiring and talented people, but Silvia, designer and Director of Chouchou Hoods, is beyond that. The energy she gives off, and the pieces she designs, they are made with love and positivity, made to make you feel good when you’re wearing them.
Chouchou is the one and only brand specialising in luxury made hoods. The quality of these pieces is unreal, handmade with durable and beautiful fabrics, they are also so original and different.
I am always carrying around an umbrella as I love to wear blazers and coats which have structured lapels and thus don’t come with a hood, but living in Glasgow, something to keep you dry is vital.
This is why the ‘Hollyhood Glasgow’ is perfect, it’s new unique coated fabric is waterproof, something that Silvia’s customers have been asking for years! I was lucky enough to get the preview of this new collection launching tomorrow, and together we named it after my love of Glasgow in the cold, rain and winter. Along with being waterproof and having this beautiful faux fur trim and jersey lining, that kept me so warm and cosy, this hood is also reversible – I mean can you get a more easy wearable and versatile piece, a detachable hood that can be worn with everything?
I wanted to show different ways to wear your hood. I will obviously wear mine in more casual ways, which I will show in coming posts, with a coat and flats, for an everyday look. Here, however, I wanted to show the versatility of the piece. I was inspired by the tones, to wear it with a menswear style suit, that I would wear out to an event, dinner or a party. By adding the hood, the fur makes the look instantly more glamorous and genuinely practical too. I think it would look so incredible with a sleeveless blazer, buttoned up with nothing underneath, for the ultimate night time look. What do you think? How would you wear your hood?
This new collection will be launching tomorrow, Tuesday the 25th of November at 12pm, and this hood I am wearing will be available in two different fabrics, and faux fur combinations. There is only 20 available per fabric, so get orders in fast, or you will regret it – the cost is £125 per handmade hood , including postage.
You can follow them via social media Facebook / Twitter and you can check out the website here – go and have a look at these original pieces, they would make the perfect christmas gift, as well as supporting local designers.
Let me know what you think, and if you have any questions leave them below. Happy Monday!
